Sick Mother Kicked Out of the Private Hospital After Breaking KATH HIV Blood

A 46 years old woman whose name was withheld to the public whom was supposed to transfuse blood which was brought from Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital blood bank after further reports received that the blood brought was contaminated been thrown out of this private facility located in Kumasi in the Kean Health Center.

In accordance to this saga, a traumatized diabetes patient, who according to reports from the hospital was asked by the facility to go home earlier on Sunday was packed out of the hospital and referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital KATH whereby blood received turned out to be HIV possible, in addition to HIV, the blood was also infected by syphilis virus.

The woman from her residence in Tafo-Nhyiaso, which is a suburb in Kumasi metropolis in a statement during an interview with the reporters who had visited her to ensure of her recovery condition disclosed that she was asked to go home by being discharged from the hospital even after she ran out of blood.

She added that after he noticed his condition, she had to plead with the authorities for him to receive blood transfusion done to prevent her from dying.

The terrifying thing about this saga is that after she went out of blood during a transfusion, the private hospital had to request additional blood from the banker. Reports then indicated that after the blood arrived in the hospital, the hospital performed other; tests to ascertain that the blood was fine, but the amusing thing was the blood tested HIV positive and more so had virus infection of syphilis.

However, this left the reporters with a question on whether the blood stored in the blood banker was safe for patients. Later after this, it was reported that it was possible that this blood with the HIV infection and syphilis could have been transfused into the woman’s body. After the facility detected the matter, they reported this matter to police for farther investigation.

Reporters, on the other hand, requested access to all the patient record to know more about the matter. This case is expected to be investigated and concluded as soon as possible.
